Delirium
The goal of this project was to re-design an alcoholic beverage of our choosing. I settled on three flavours from Huyghe Brewery’s flagship line of beers – ‘Delirium’.
This being my favourite craft beer I wanted to create more visual distinction between flavours with a clinical spin on the design that remarks on the controversial namesake of this brand.
Delirium tremens (‘shaking frenzy‘) is a rapid onset of confusion caused by withdrawal from alcohol. Physical effects may include shaking, shivering, irregular heart rate and sweating.

ATTRIBUTIONS
Delirium is an alcoholic beer line from Huyghe Brewery (Dutch: Brouwerij Huyghe) In 1906, Leon Huyghe purchased an existing brewery in Melle (at a site that had been in operation brewing beer since 1654). The brewery adopted the present name in 1938. While the company initially brewed a regular pilsner, it soon began brewing the kinds of beers now typically known as “Belgian.”
Delirium Tremens
Delirium Tremens is Huyghe Brewery's flagship golden ale beer that has been the main source of this line's controversy due to its name being the aforementioned affliction of alcohol withdrawal.
Malty aromas and fruity touches of orange zest, green apples and apricots with a hint of banana.
This flavour profile led to the hues of green and purple used in this design to indicate and express its complex flavour at a glance.

Delirium Argentum
Delirium Argentum is the next instalment in this line following the motif of Delirium with 'Argentum' as the alternative for 'Tremens'.
Full-bodied, intense with a touch of caramel and a spicy, citrus-like bitter finish.
This flavour profile led to the hues of red, orange and green used in this design to indicate and express its complex flavour at a glance.

Delirium Nocturnum
Delirium Nocturnum is the third and final draft in this line with 'Nocturnum' referring to the rich depth and malty darkness of this brew.
Caramel, mocha, chocolate, and spices like liquorice and coriander gives this draft its full-bodied richness.
This flavour profile led to the hues of purple, magenta and blue used in this design to indicate and express its complex flavour at a glance.
